Programme Biography
THE CONSORT OF SONGE – director Stefan Scot – is a group of professional and semi-professional singers who specialise in early music. In their concert for the Leominster Festival, they will explore the vocal music of 16th century England, a time when polyphonic music reached its peak. They will be singing anthems by Tallis, Byrd, Gibbons and Weelkes in the first half and madrigals in the second.
