JAKE THACKRAY, well known for his appearances on radio and television. is a comic songster whose unique style owes more, perhaps, to the French ballad tradition than to music hall. Benedict Nightingale, respected B.B.C. critic, wrote of a recent Thackray recording, ‘. . , he is fun, marvellous fun . . . moralist as well as poet, he celebrates love, sex, freedom as basic human rights, belonging to all."
