Programme Biography (1986)

Pyewackett plays pop music from the last five centuries, from medieval dance tunes to Joan Armatrading plus a good measure of original material. It’s an eclectic mixture leading to a unique sound. Folk song and dance, music theatre, contemporary music and pop all play a part in the band’s style, brought together in Pyewackett’s unique mix of synthetic and electronic sound with traditional instruments.

The line up of the band is:

- Ian Blake — clarinets, sax, recorders, guitar, bass, voice.

- Mark Emerson — electric violin, accordion, voice.

- Rosie Cross — voice, hammer dulcimer, bassoon.

- Bill Martin — synthesisers, piano, voice.

- Micky Barker — drums.
