==Programme Biography (1986)==
Jim Tonkin is well-known throughout the county for his work on the vernacular architecture of Herefordshire.
A Cornishman by birth, he came to Herefordshire in the 1960’s as Headmaster of Wigmore High School and began a systematic exploration of the county’s buildings.
His publications include: “The Book of Hereford” (1975) and a volume on Herefordshire in the Batsford series of county books.

Mr J Tomkin was a local historian with an extensive knowledge of the history of Leominster.
