Programme Biography

Described recently as “. . . very simply the best young British cellist since Jacqueline du Pré”. Julian Lloyd-Webber is one of the most exciting and creative young artists before the musical public today. Through performing the works of such varied composers as Sir Lennox Berkeley, Delius, Benjamin Britten. Johnny Dankworth and Andrew Lloyd-Webber. he has already made a significant contribution to the expansion of the cello repertoire. Concert tours continue to take him to many parts of the world and no gives frequent performances on radio and television.
