Programme Listing

As it did in 1986 the Festival begins with the Craft Fair, an event that is intended to attract the widest possible audience. The day offers a full programme of music, dancing and comedy. Included are Leominster Schools’ Brass Band, Malvern Hills District Brass Band, Doglogarum, Francis Maxey, the Radio Wyvern Roadshow and others. A timetable of events will be published.

As in past years the Craft Fair itself includes a wide range of crafts and goods for sale. Potters, blacksmiths, woodcarvers, doll-makers, printers, furniture-makers, straw-workers, painters, candle-makers, spinners and weavers have all demonstrated their skill on previous occasions and this year will not be an exception. Already almost fifty “pitches” have been booked. Refreshments will be available.

All this takes place on the Grange and in the Priory Church. We are indebted to Leominster District Council for sponsoring the various entertainments which will take place during the course of the day.

The Craft Fair and the Festival will be officially opened in the Priory Church by Councillor Pamela Housden, the Chairman of Leominster District Council, at approximately 10.45 am.
