Pyewackett plays pop music from the last five centuries, from medieval dance tunes to Joan Armatrading plus a good measure of original material. It’s an eclectic mixture leading to a unique sound. Folk song and dance, music theatre, contemporary music and pop all play a part in the band’s style, brought together in Pyewackett’s unique mix of synthetic and electronic sound with traditional instruments.
Tonight, Pyewackett bring their own caller to lead us into an energetic evening of dancing and song. The line up of the band is:
Ian Blake — clarinets, sax, recorders, guitar, bass, voice Mark Emerson — electric violin, accordion, voice
Rosie Cross — voice, hammer dulcimer, bassoon Bill Martin — synthesisers, piano, voice Micky Barker — drums
